COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL INTERIOR DESIGN | A WBE CERTIFIED COMPANY
COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL INTERIOR DESIGN | A WBE CERTIFIED COMPANY
With over 15 years of experience, I have enjoyed working with my clients to create anything from a more welcoming guest bathroom to a more integrated, collaborative, and inspiring work environment for larger commercial clients. I have experience in residential and commercial interior design with a focus on kitchen renovations, attic renovations, bathroom renovations, basement renovations, corporate work environments, retail, lobby design, and event spaces. Before venturing out on my own, I worked for several prominent firms in the Indianapolis area including CSO Architects, Axis Architecture + Interiors, and BSA LifeStructures. Each provided me with a valuable education in my profession for me to continue to excel and grow as a designer. While working for these firms provided me with a wonderful experience, nothing is as fun as working on my own with clients I love. Even if you have a vision and just need some consulting, INHABIT | SPACE is happy to provide kitchen decorating ideas, interior decorating tips, or just help combine elements you already know you love and want in your space.
When thinking about interior design, most people think of color and furniture. While this is a great part within the interior design profession, there is much more to it. Interior designers are excellent space planners, and can help create more functional living and work spaces that are also beautiful and inspiring; reflecting the client or company's personality and branding. Building codes, lighting, electrical, and figuring out the details are also important for an interior designer to be involved with throughout the design process of a new project.
Interior designers and interior decorators are not created equal. Interior designers can space plan, create documents, follow building codes, and select finishes with the client. Interior designers typically carry a Bachelor of Science degree from a four year undergraduate program. Registered interior designers take it to the next level. A registered interior designer in the State of Indiana must have the education and must have passed the NCIDQ (the certification exam to be considered a professional interior designer). Once someone has passed the NCIDQ, they can register with the State of Indiana. This lets the public and other professionals know that the interior designer has the education and understanding to perform the work of an interior designer at a very high level.
